Feng Shui 風水

Where Wind Meets Water,
Fortune Follows

Feng Shui is not superstition — it is the ancient Chinese science of environmental energy. The shape of your land, the direction of your door, the position of your bed — each either supports or obstructs the flow of Qi through your life. Our guides translate 3,500 years of authentic practice into adjustments you can make today.

What Is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui (風水), literally “wind-water,” is born from the observation that Qi — the vital energy that animates all things — is carried by wind and collected by water. Where wind scatters, energy dissipates. Where water pools, energy accumulates. The art is to arrange your environment so that Qi flows gently, nourishing every area of your life.

The two main schools are the Compass School (Luo Pan compass and directional Bagua) and the Form School (physical shapes and landscape analysis). Most contemporary practitioners integrate both — analyzing the magnetic orientation of your space and the visible forms within it.

Modern Feng Shui adapts these ancient principles to interior design, architecture, and urban planning — proving that the wisdom of wind and water is as relevant in a Manhattan apartment as it was in a Zhou Dynasty palace.

The Three Principles

01

Qi Must Flow

Energy should circulate like a gentle stream — never rushing (long hallways, sharp corners) nor stagnating (clutter, blocked doors). Still water breeds illness; a rushing river sweeps you away.

02

Yin-Yang Balance

Every space needs both active (Yang) and restful (Yin) zones. A bedroom is Yin — cool, quiet, enclosed. A living room is Yang — warm, bright, open. Confuse them and life loses rhythm.

03

Five Elements Harmony

Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water must be balanced through color, shape, and material. An excess of Fire (red, triangular, electronics) in a bedroom destroys Yin rest. A missing Water element in the north blocks career Qi.
